What you can expect:
Relief from pain, depending on the procedure, can take anywhere from a few minutes to one hour for most nerve blocks and up to two to three days for epidural steroid injections.
How to prepare:
Do not eat or drink anything for six hours prior to the procedure. You will return home immediately following treatment.
Important instructions:
Patients currently taking blood-thinning agents must discontinue them for up to one week before the procedure. Your MAC anesthesiologist will provide additional instructions regarding medications.
