MAC anesthesiologists are highly trained specialists in interventional pain management. In addition to safe, effective pain relief during and following surgery, we provide pain management treatment for common – and often chronic – debilitating conditions such as spinal stenosis, lumbar degenerative disc disease, spinal arthritis, and acute disc herniations (i.e. lumbar and cervical).

We focus on diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks, epidural injections, facet injections, sacroiliac injections, discography, sympathetic nerve blocks, trigger point injections, selective nerve root blocks, and peripheral nerve blocks.

Personalized treatment plans – just for you:
Your MAC anesthesiologist will thoroughly evaluate your degree of pain as well as your physical and psychological condition, then develop an individualized plan. Your treatment plan may include a single approach or a combination of different types of therapies.

What you can expect:
Relief from pain, depending on the procedure, can take anywhere from a few minutes to one hour for most nerve blocks and up to two to three days for epidural steroid injections.

How to prepare:
Do not eat or drink anything for six hours prior to the procedure. You will return home immediately following treatment.

Important instructions:
Patients currently taking blood-thinning agents must discontinue them for up to one week before the procedure. Your MAC anesthesiologist will provide additional instructions regarding medications.
